Overview
This training will teach you to visualize data with Power BI. It focuses on the often-overlooked subject of data visualization. You will explore how to layout the screen, when to use tables and when a chart is the right choice, how to format the visual elements, pick the right colors and many more. You will learn the recommended approach for the most common analysis types such as ranking values, exploring distribution and observing behavior over time.
We will discuss the mechanics of visual perception and how they apply to data visualization. You will learn the theory and reasons behind each recommendation. That is, why a given approach makes the information easier to digest and helps the audience extract insights faster and enjoy looking at your visual story.
The training teaches you how to format your reports and visualization with Microsoft Power BI. However, the data visualization principles and best practices you will learn, you can apply anytime you visualize data in any product – Excel, PowerPoint, or drawing a chart on a sheet of paper.

DAY 1
We will focus quantitative data visualization – i.e. how to best present your numbers in a way that the reports consumers can quickly and easily digest the information and extract insights. You will learn the fundamentals of visual perception and how to use these specific when telling a data story. You will explore and apply best practices in formatting tables and charts.

DAY 2
During this day you will supplement you data visualization skills and learn how to combine everything in an end-to-end story. We will also present you with how to share a report with a wider audience in the Power BI Service. Also, how to interact with repots in the service and collaborate with other users.
