The long wait for ITIL 4 is over – Axelos has announced that ITIL 4 Foundation will be released in Q1 2019.
According to Axelos, the ITIL 4 name will reflect the role the framework will play in “supporting individuals and organizations to navigate the Fourth Industrial Revolution”.
That is why, the update will focus on integrating traditional ITIL with DevOps, Agile, and Lean best practices. The development of the update has been to large extend community-driven with numerous experts and practitioners from the industry taking part as contributors.
The new certification path has been published and you can take a look at it here on the Axelos website. There is also a FAQ’s guide published here. The transition process is promised to be gradual and ITIL v3 certifications will remain valid.
