My name is Hristina Balabanova and I am a senior at the American University in Bulgaria. I am double-majoring in Political Science and International Relations and in Visual Arts and Advertising, but my true passion is the field of Marketing and Design. To be honest, my marketing internship at ITCE was one of the main events in my life that helped me realize my interest and made me want to develop my skills in that direction. In the following paragraphs, you will see how ITCE helped me and what I learned from them and, of course, about them.
The first thing that pops out in my mind when I think about my internship is the team. For me, the team I work with is very important because it is the main thing that makes you want to present yourself and your skills at their finest. Not only the team’s positive and friendly approach towards me, but also their open way of working made me feel “home”. The fact that they trusted me and let me use my knowledge and my practical skills triggered my desire to do my best. I learned that the motivation of the team and their attitude towards the whole working process are the major drivers of progress, not the strict working hours. I have always thought of myself as an organized person, but what ITCE taught me was how to manage my responsibilities in the right manner and what managing your time means, without causing any additional stress to the rest of the team; that way, the whole working process is more pleasant, easier, and more effective.
Not only the team’s structure and organization, but also its motivation is something that I will remember from my internship. To work with people who actually believe in the mission of the company is much more valuable than simply getting work done. Every team member had the opportunity to share their opinion and concerns or ask for the others’ advice, even me. This working method not only unites the team members, but also shows an important feature of the company’s value system – the personal attitude and the individual approach. These values are not only focused on the clients, but also on the team members and for me, this is something that makes ITCE stand out. ITCE is not only a group of amazing professionals, but also a team of colorful individuals, each one with a special place and role in the company’s identity.
Despite the fact that my time as an intern at ITCE was limited, I believe I managed to get the most of it. I understood that believing in the mission of the company you are working for is crucial because, by improving the processes in the organization, you are also improving yourself, both as a professional and as an individual. I learned a lot about my strengths and weaknesses; how to organize and distribute my efforts and how to believe in what I am doing. I wish everyone to have the chance to work in such a wonderful team.
