What would be changing in the new PMBOK® Guide?
The PMBOK® Guide – 7th Edition is due out later this year and we’ve been receiving many questions from our clients as to what they can expect.
Until now, PMBOK was mainly focusing on waterfall project management techniques. However, with the fast pace of technology and the presence of fiercer competition than ever before, the requirements of the project can change over time depending on its progress.
With conventional project management approaches, it is not possible to accommodate the rapidly changing requirements of the projects.
That is why the new PMBOK incorporates Agile project management concepts, methods, and approaches.
In the 7th edition, project management standards are primarily based on principles, rather than processes. As a result, the emphasis is on the importance of value delivery systems and project delivery principles that focus on the thought processes and behavior of the people involved.
The PMP® Course & Certification Exam
Certification Exam
The Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification exam changed as well on 2nd January, 2021 to meet the changing content of the PMBOK® Guide – 7th Edition, and the evolving needs of the project management professionals.
The questions that you will get in the new version of the exam will no longer be single choice questions only. Instead, in the new format you will get a lot of multiple-choice questions and drag-and-drop matching question types. Another important thing to note is that the questions in the new exam format are mostly situational questions covering topics on team leadership, people management, agile, hybrid delivery, etc.
We at ITCE are working hard on redesigning the content of our Project Management Professional (PMP)® Preparation Course so that we make sure you receive the best preparation for the new format of the certification exam.
Once we are ready, you will be the first to find out.
