Postbank and ITCE join forces to deliver training for more than 500 employees

Earlier this year, Postbank received funding under a European program focused on workforce development and saw an opportunity to invest in internal upskilling of the people who contribute to the company’s success every day

Rather than approaching the initiative as a collection of standalone training courses, Postbank and ITCE worked together to design a structured learning program that could reach employees across different parts of the organization and provide knowledge that can be applied directly in their daily work.

Between March and July, 525 employees are taking part in training programs covering Agile and  SAFe, ITIL and Project Management frameworks. Behind these courses are people with very different responsibilities – some manage teams while others lead projects, define business requirements, coordinate delivery activities, or work closely with stakeholders across the organization. What connects them is the need to develop their skills as business expectations and ways of working continue to evolve.

Delivering training on this scale requires close coordination between both organizations. Over five months, multiple groups are running in parallel, bringing together participants from different business units and professional backgrounds.

From the beginning, there was a shared understanding that the program should focus on practical application rather than theory alone. Participants are encouraged to discuss real situations, share experiences from their own roles, and explore how the concepts can be applied within their own teams and responsibilities.

Behind the scenes, this also requires significant effort from our FOCUS team in ITCE. Managing the training schedule, coordinating multiple groups, and ensuring a high standard of delivery across all learning paths is a complex undertaking. The objective is not only to meet the requirements of the project, but also to provide participants with a learning experience that is engaging and immediately applicable to their work.

Although the initiative is still underway, the feedback received so far points to a consistent trend. Participants frequently highlight the practical nature of the sessions and the ability of instructors to explain complex topics through examples drawn from real-life situations. Many also value the opportunity to exchange perspectives with colleagues who face similar challenges in different parts of the organization.

What stands out most about this initiative is not the number of courses delivered or the number of participants involved. It is the decision to invest in the development of existing employees and create opportunities for them to expand their knowledge and expertise. In a business environment where new skills are constantly required, developing talent from within remains one of the most sustainable ways to prepare for future challenges.

As the final training groups continue through the summer, the collaboration between Postbank and ITCE remains focused on that objective. By the end of July, 525 employees will have completed their learning paths, contributing to a stronger base of knowledge and expertise in Agile, Project Management and IT Service Management across the organization.
